When Mia's on the move she usually makes a beeline for Bianca's room. Duh--that's where all the cool toys are, mom! Today I followed her and this is what I found. Proudly messing up sissy's bed. In the past 24 hours I've also found her pulled up on the TV and her crib bars, just pleased as punch. Love her big diaper butt too. :)

Mia update
It's been awhile since I gave an update on our tiny dynamo. Mia is growing up so fast--she's waving bye-bye, saying "mama", pulling to standing, and even cruising on occasion. I predict walking within a couple of months and I'm looking forward to it--I much prefer walking to crawling. Summer is tough with a crawler trying to eat the sand and rocks at beaches and parks.
She's into everything now, opening drawers, ransacking B's toys, pulling off fridge magnets. We have to re-up our babyproofing. As active as B is and was, she was never much into drawers or cabinets so we didn't have to worry too much about her getting into trouble there. Mia will be a different story. If it has a handle, knob, or door she wants to open it and investigate.
She eats like a horse--people are amazed when they see this tiny girl inhaling huge amounts of food. She eats three meals a day plus snacks and takes all of her milk feeds too. I don't know where she puts its! She definitely tires herself out--she sleeps about 13 hours at night, waking up once to eat. She takes two long naps during the day and I almost always have to wake her up to keep her from sleeping the day away.
She's such a snuggly, giggly little bear and she brightens every day!

Garden!
Well, the inside of the house is slowly coming together and now the outside is too. Mom and Sarah spent the weekend here working in the yard, and I now have gorgeous dahlias, blueberry and raspberry bushes, lots of colorful annuals, yummy herbs, and a big window box full of lettuce!
We still have WAY too many trees. The previous owners loved trees enough to polka-dot the yard with them. Some I love, like the cherry tree. Others I'm gunning for (overgrown pine trees with tons of needles, I'm talking to YOU).
Theyelped Bianca plant pumpkins and squash. She's so proud and loves watering them every day.
Mia is so into her hammy grins. She loves to make me laugh.
No reason for the band aid on her head. She just wanted it. :)
Can't wait for our blooms and yummy veggies and berries. Thanks so much mom--it would have taken me ages to do this on my own!

See ya on the flip!
I'll be offline (briefly) while we move a few miles up the road. Moving is all too familiar to us now, and practice does not make perfect. I'm getting worse at it the older I get. Having kids doesn't help.
Ever tried to move with a three-year-old underfoot? Don't! A monkey would be more helpful. She's a great UNpacker, though. That should come in handy over the next few days.
The house is still kind of a wreck, but slowly coming together. I'm a little overwhelmed at what we've gotten ourselves into. After living in our adorable rented bungalow for two years, extensively renovated and very much an "after", we're moving to a "before" that WE have to fix up OURSELVES. We've done it before and we can do it again, but it will be slow going with the kids around because we have such limited time for projects. Oh, yeah, and we also own another home too--landowners on both sides of the state. Good lord, it makes me dizzy. Responsibility. Does this mean we're grownups?
Back to packing! See ya soon!

The baker and the bandit
Yesterday, B asked me if we could bake cupcakes for Daddy. How could I deny such a sweet request? Sure, everyone gets messy...but that's all part of the fun.
She picked out everything herself, right down to the sprinkles! (She's sporting steri-strips on her eyebrow from her first major boo-boo last Friday. She gashed her eyebrow at preschool and barely escaped getting stiches. Cried for a few minutes and then forgot all about it.)
Fast forward to today...B was enjoying a cupcake while I cleaned up after dinner. I turned around to see that she had "shared" her cupcake with her sister. When I first caught her Mia was shaking from head to toe, she was so excited. She just KNEW she was getting something she wasn't supposed to have. :) YUM--floor cupcake. :)
